Mettlers is a classic, with regard to Mankato, Minnesota. I graduated from Mankato State (now known as Minnesota State) University in 1987 -- so you could say that I "cut my teeth" on going to strp clubs at Mettler's. The last time I went to Mettlers, there are no lap dances -- but there are "dances" -- which consists of the girl of your choice doing a private dance for you on top of a small barrell (which the dancers carry with them). Some girls skip this and just do the dance in front of you. Body contact is minimal, probably because Mettler's servers alcohol and food (try the pineapple cheese bread).

The most noteworthy aspect of Mettler's is that, from time to time, it is very, very, very difficult to get a dance. This is because the local yocal farmers (many of whom are millionaires -- but you would never guess) pay the dancers much bucks to "just sit at their table and talk". Okay guys -- I know you probably think I am kidding -- but I am not. Go to Mettler's and you will see.

Most of the dancers at Mettlers drive down from the Cities, and many of the dancers are from other clubs. Best times to go are during the week, as the best dancers are working up in the Minneapolis clubs on the weekends. Go on a week night before the farmers show up. You might want to try wearing overalls and try talking like you own your own farm.
