I should add one additional piece of information for anyone thinking of making a trip in the next week or so. Hong Kong, Adelita, etc. are holding their Valentine’s Day events on the 9th and 10th, I believe. I was a little slow in figuring out why, because it isn’t my personal situation. When I asked about this, a bargirl explained that on Valentine’s Day itself (and the days before and after) the clubs will be slow and as a result there won’t be nearly as many bargirls. The same is true for other holidays. For instance, she said it slows down a lot after December 15th through Christmas and New Year’s. Why? Because a large percentage of customers apparently have things going on back home at those times. Relatedly, on my most recent trip in the mid-day every single bargirl asked me if I was married or had a girlfriend. So if any of you are - and no judgment there - be prepared for, and not surprised, by that question. Conversely, nobody asked me that on my initial late afternoon / night trip.

All I can say is I was not asked either time I crossed back into the United States in the last half month and was not asked for my vaccine card either. (I had it with me just in case.)

I'll write more about my most recent trip later. All in all, the dayshift is OK (still way better than SoCal SCs), but if you have the chance to be there after 5 p.m., do that instead. This is especially true if you do not have Global Entry and can't easily skip the line back into the United States. If you have not made the border crossing in the daytime before, beware that if you take the shuttle back to the border crossing you may well be targeted by someone offering to help you skip the line for $$$. They'll lie and say there's only one line and there's no way to avoid the 3+ hour-long wait without their help. You don't need anyone's help to skip the line if you have Global Entry. Morale of the story: have Global Entry.

Beers were $4. Shots were $9.
Yes, I went arriba with the first girl who sat down with me (Canela), but that’s because it was the girl the waiter went out of his way to grab for me as one of the best girls available there at that time. It was still pretty early, around 4 pm, and amidst the shift change. I really should have tipped that guy for that, and I feel like a dick for not doing that. She gave a great performance so zero regrets.
She asked for $100. That’s the going rate now. I didn’t negotiate.
I neglected to mention that I went after a second girl later in the night. After round 1, I stopped sitting at the tables and wandered around checking out all of the available options. I also sat for a while at the tip rail of one of the stages. The girl I most liked, a 10 with very toned muscular abs, danced in a couple different places. I kept trying to connect with her, but it didn’t come together. Another girl who I had enjoyed watching on the stage though was around, so I went after her instead. This is one of the girls who has been in the HK monthly photo gallery a few times in recent months, and is a stand out. She quoted me $120, which I figured is the higher end rate. I had fun with her too, but couldn’t finish. Too much alcohol. She said I could keep trying for another $120 for her and another $30 for the room. I was fighting against nature and so passed.
The room cost $30 for 30 minutes.

Here’s the postscript. I’ve since been back to HK. I wanted to see what it was like earlier in the day, around lunchtime. The ratio of guys to girls was surprisingly high. There were maybe 2-3 guys there per girl. And, not surprisingly, there was not nearly as great of a selection of girls. All this led me ultimately to check out Adelitas next door, which was a good call on my part and ended up being a lot of fun. Adelitas was a lot less crowded than HK and there were far fewer guys there. One of the girls I talked to at Adelitas told me that maybe only 20% of guys at HK are interested in arriba, whereas all but 5-10% of guys at Adelitas are interested in that.
