This poem had always moved me. After visiting France and standing in the poppies, it's even more powerful. Today it brings tears for those who served and have given their lives for my freedoms and liberties.
In Flanders Field
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
You have no idea what Memorial Day is about. It honors and mourns the heros that protected this great country. It has nothing to do with unemployment, C19, or Biden. Shut the fuck up idiot.
There have been more deaths in NY nursing homes, 5350, than total deaths in every state except NY and NJ. CA had twice the population of NY, 2769 total deaths. Cuomo had a lot to answer for.
