I'm assuming LE finding out about what went down in VIP were the reason the curtains were removed. And it would explain why the bouncers are so anal now, which really sucks because even the girls were complaining about how annoying the rules are. You know things have gone downhill when even the girls hate the security.
I'm currently on the hunt for a new club, but at the moment no I'm not dancing anywhere. And I believe you about the rule. My first club was even stricter; phones weren't even allowed in the lockers because the girls would hide in the DR and be on them all night instead of working. We were supposed to turn them in to management until our shift was over. And yet, some girls would find a way to get their phones when management was distracted, or they'd have two phones, one they'd turn in and one they'd sneak around the club. No matter how strict management is, lazy strippers will find a way.
It's likely that I just didn't describe the location of the stages very well since I visited so long ago, and only once. As for the phones, I definitely believe you that the girls are told in no uncertain terms not to be on them, but that they break the rule when given the slightest chance. I do remember it was a week day when I went, so it's possible management wasn't paying as much attention as usual.
I'm 100% sure I was at Oasis because multiple people had recommended it to me before I went, and I am also sure I saw phones. And the stage wasn't exactly eye level, it was an exaggeration just to say that it was a lot lower than other stages (if you want to be technical, when you stood at the stage you'd probably be staring directly at the dancer's crotch if you're short like I am, or their chest if you're taller). Maybe it's just the day I went (or the time of day, as it was early in the afternoon), but my review is exactly what I experienced.
