Extremely safe. Nuevo Progreso is really catered to the non-spanish speaker. Not everyone speaks English, but there's always someone around to translate.

Basically, it gets you access to the lap dance booths that are along the walls of the club. Without the bands, you get dances at your table, or in a corner table that is usually occupied by others getting dances and not wanting to get the band. If you plan on getting dances, invest in the band. It's more private,more comfortable, and the girl feels more comfortable too.

VIP band is $20 and each dance in the club are $20 each

Got you, well this is a small club. A few tables around a small stage. Two couches on either end of the stage too. As soon as you walk in there is the bar to your left and sitting/ stage area to your right. The dj booth also doubled as a lap dance room if you aren't looking for the full service just yet. There's a hallway next to the bar that leads to the rooms for full service. There is ample parking on the US side and it is a quick 5-10 minute walk to get there. It takes a bit because you have to walk past all the street vendors. Usually two guys on the corner where the club is directing you there. Sorry I didn't keep the card, but they do offer to drop you off at the crossing, but it's faster if you walk. Lots of traffic. No overnight accommodations because the club closes like at 6 p.m. the town is busy during the day, but slows down after all the Doctors close for the day. But a very large presence of Americans there. Meseros speak perfect English and will translate for you if necessary. Being fluent, I didn't require that.
