I don’t have the experience or the mojo to get somebody to a downtown hotel. What would you suggest if I wanted to sample HK and CC? Are there any hotels that accommodate both? The only thing one should be concerned with today is the downstream impact of the elevated rhetoric. I have spent a few years each in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and you cannot imagine the challenges that you encounter in conducting any business with the government - no one is interested in following process or in the progress of the country. Each government employee and private citizen is chipping away at the country’s wealth (economic, infrastructure, climate, you name it) with their own personal benefit as the only desired outcome. I have started seeing the same in the US - bribes were non-existent at the consumer level as recently as 5-7 years ago. I recently found out that building plans were being approved by a local govt for a price. Do you want to hear about the next bridge or building collapse in the US instead of some 3rd world country?

When not a Thu, Fri or Sat, call and ask. Most clubs close earlier than the advertised time and even if they stay open, the dancers have already left - and you generally find the cleaning crew.
