Key West update middle
Living in Fort Lauderdale, at least part-time I am lucky to have Hallendale/North Miami clubs a bit to the south and Pompano clubs just north. Still, sometimes I get the urge for the multifaceted pleasures of KeyWest which years ago would host some spectacular entertainers as they danced their way around the country. There hasn't been any reporting on KeyWest so I thought I should report briefly on my visit Saturday June 20, 2021.
Bare Assets was the 1st stop and then on to Teasers. About 11:30pm and 4 dancers in lingerie on the street hawking customers.$20 entrance and reasonable bar prices around $8 for a mixed. The dancers do their best to attach themselves, at least the 4-6s. That seems to be about 50%. The others are 7-9 and appear only infrequently when their customers have depleted their lap dance reserve funds. Equity doesn't exist in this world. The desperate (though clearly not starving) and the MUCH leaner big earners.
Place was about 85% full, crowd was white and young and having a blast. Lap dance areas were clean, spacious and VERY well lit. Historically not a lot of extras but I didn't check to see if that was the current policy (used to be hit or miss for OTC). Quality dances, a lot of mutual hands.
This is the club up the stairs on Duval about a block from Red Garter. I always liked Garter better but I expect next trip will cement a change of preference. If you feel compelled to constantly hand out $ to the street beggars in S Fl you may feel beleaguered here. If that isn't a concern this place is ready for fun.
After proceeding to the Garter and upon reflection afterwards I would say Key West clubs are very much worth visiting, if you otherwise need an excuse to visit Key West, and while not back to their pre Pandemic or pre Irma condition, are clearly on the way.
After checking the Duval clubs I would conclude things are generally good in Monroe (didn't stop at Woodys) but certainly not up to pre Pandemic or pre Irma standards (they are moving in that direction).
