Club Obsessions

After hearing about how this is the best spot in town I decided to give obsessions a try since the Blue Parrot was closed for some reason. Fortunately I knew the Door man from working with him at a previous job and he was kind enough to let me in without paying the $10 cover which is a good thing because there were only 2 girls there and I saw one dance in the whole 30 minutes I stuck around. I'm not sure if it was just a bad night or not but was DEFINITELY not worth my time

Sadly, Obsessions closed its doors and the girls and I won't get to see you all at that location. Fortunately, there is a silver lining to this cloud because I was asked to manage at After 12. I am currently working on rounding up your favorite dancers and bringing them with me to After 12 for your enjoyment. This new club is located in the building where Lady Godiva's Excalibur used to be (334 Smithtown Road, Morgantown, WV, 26508). This is very exciting to me because for a very long time, this was my home club and where I developed my love of dancing. I hadn't been since last summer, but the club is more or less the same. For a friday evening there weren't a lot of customers, so lots of attention from the dancers. The club is reasonably clean and well-lit. The bartenders are attentive and cheerful. The cover is only $10 and drinks won't break the bank ($3 for domestic bottles). The dancers aren't your big-city overdone glamorous types, but they're not bad, either. I've never had a problem finding a girl here who was worth some one-on-one time. Most of them will sit with you, drape themselves over you, and talk in between their sets; some let you buy them drinks (which, as noted above, are fairly priced). The rates for upstairs are a little steep, however. But once up there, you can get a hands-on experience, and the bouncers, while present, aren't really bad. Be respectful of the girls and everyone has a good time. Morgantown isn't LA, Vegas, or New York. It's not even Pittsburgh. But Club Obsessions is one of the better places in town to go. If you think of it like a big-city strip joint with private rooms and "extras" delivered by failed movie stars, you will be disappointed. But you'll only have yourself to blame. Accept it for what it is: a nice, clean bar with reasonable drink prices, and a girls who will dance for you. Win-win, every time!

First time back since the club reopened. They were closed for a couple months repairing damage from a broken water pipe. Everything on the inside is still pretty much the same. Looked like mostly new girls. Didn't see any of the old regular dancers. New bartenders too. Drinks were actually mixed alittle better. Usually it was very hit or miss with the old bartenders, some so weak or off tasting you had to ask what the drink was. Dancers were mixed. 2 very nice looking young burnettes, one not so good blonde and a druggie looking girl with stringy black hair. Its was kind of crowded for a Thursday night. All the girls did 2 songs on small stage. I tipped most alittle and ended up talking to and getting 3 dances from the one brunette. I am not big on dances but they were good and she gave alittle grind. All in all not a bad trip. Will try again soon.

At first I thought I just picked a bad time to stop in, but I haven't seen as many cars lately so I don't know if there is a busy time anymore. Very laid back, in ordering a drink sat by a mid 30's maybe blonde that was on her phone and got no attention at first. Then an apology that she didn't see me sitting there, a smile and a light weight sob story. I'll take an average body but too much makeup so I declined a dance. Highlight may have been talking about the playoffs with another guy at the bar and exchanging stories about other visits there. That shouldn't be. Tipped another spinner type before I left, keep saying I won't be back but it must be the average bar type feel that makes it comfortable.

It was a Friday evening, I had just gotten out of work and wanted to make a stop for a beer and maybe a dance before heading home. Coming up to the place, it looks more like someone's house and there's a seedy looking apartment complex surrounding the building nearby. I didn't mind the cover at the door as it was Friday. I appeared to be the only customer in the building and there were no dancers on the floor yet, so I thought I'd grab a beer and wait for a bit. I stood at the bar for a few minutes, feeling more and more awkward as I waited for someone to take my beer order. I'm not sure where the bartender was but after a few minutes, this girl claiming to be a manager of sorts got behind the bar and took my order finally. I asked her about the dancers and when they would be dancing and she said they were in the dressing room getting ready. She then asked if I'd like to see her dance while I wait. Now, this was an interesting request... but she was really past her prime. I was bored, however so I agreed. I was really not impressed, but she gave me something to do while I drank my beer as quickly as possible to get out of there. I didn't stay long, but no dancers were downstairs before I left. I might try this club again, but I don't think it's for me. I'll stick with the Blue Parrot.
