Out of Towners Avoid. It’s a Locals Only Place.
I’m not going to spend a lot of time on this club. If all you’re looking for is a cheap good times in dance booths, maybe give this place a go. Otherwise avoid. The club is out in a business district. Not that hard to find but somewhat out of the way if you are staying in Downtown Montreal. Based on the reviews I took the time to drive out, and knew immediately it wasn’t really worth the trip. It was pretty basic on the outside, an older brick building that looks like it used to be something else, and somewhat run down on the interior. A lot of exposed wood, and it looked oddly rustic considering the exterior and urban environment. But I was there to see tits and ass so it wasn’t that big of a factor. The night I was there it was pretty much a black club, and had a lot of young customers like it was the place to be seen in that part of town. The place had muscle at the doors and I got the sense there could be trouble, but the patrons were mellow while I was there (it was still early). Maybe there’s a usually a different mix of patrons, but it definitely had an urban vibe either way. The inside of the place looks like a sports bar that happens to have a stage in the middle of it. There NBA playoff games on multiple screens, and I spent more time watching those than the stage. Only a handful of dancers, and they were passable but not great. There was one brunette dancer I thought was interesting enough to take a flyer on for dances. Had a “No Games” tattoo and spunky attitude. Unfortunately her dances were just ok, but at $10 a song were cheap enough where it didn’t matter. The Red Bull was only $4.75, so that was a plus but didn’t ask if it was a special. My experience there was mostly being ignored by everyone other than the bartenders. Which actually wasn’t a problem since there were games on I could watch and low hustle while I was checking out the sparse lineup of girls. When the girls started dancing on stage (keyhole style with two dancer poles, one on either side) I moved from the large bar by the entrance (where the bigger screens were) to the bar in the center of the club by the stage. Not long after a large group of younger guys (I’d put them in their early mid-20’s) walked in and started filling in one end of the bar. When I counted them off, I realized they were going to be a seat or two short without having to sit around me, but couldn’t tell where the stragglers (and loudest) were going to sit. Here’s the thing. Some crowds will do something like move a couple of chairs around so they can all sit together, some crowds will try to intentionally make you uncomfortable enough where you move, and some will just get in your face and tell you to move. Preemptively moving might seem like a good choice, unless one of them takes it personal like you’re too good to sit by them. The guys around me already were waiting for their alpha and not really acknowledging my presence. Eventually the loud, flamboyant one makes his way over and I could tell the others were holding off to see what he would do. In the words of the immortal Roger Murtaugh, I’m getting too old for this shit. He takes a look at me, gives it some thought, and politely says “sir, would you mind moving down a seat so I can sit by my friends?” So, I move down a couple of seats (because I knew two them were still standing) and took in a couple more dancers on stage before leaving. Stage show was just adequate and there wasn’t much tipping going on. Why am I putting all of this detail about seats at the bar in the review? Because that could have easily gone the other way and I’d be way outnumbered in a place where I had no backup and no obvious way out. Don’t let that be you.

Great diversity
Cabaret Les Amazones was the only club I visited in Montreal that wasn't downtown, or near downtown. It was about a 15 minute car ride, which wasn't too bad. It's out in what feels a bit more like a suburb, with smaller buildings and larger lots. Despite this, the club was still below ground, which I found a little odd. I'm not sure what business was taking up the ground floor. Cover charge was $5.00 (Canadian). Les Amazones was pretty large and open, especially compared to some of the clubs downtown like Wandas and Bar Downtown. There's a large circular stage with a catwalk that leads up to it, and a good number of tables around it for watching the show. There are chairs up next to the stage as well. As with other clubs I visited in Montreal, there's no real stage tipping (possibly because their $1 and $2 are coins) and perhaps as a consequence no real interaction between the dancer and patrons at the stage. I think my Coke was about $7. The waitresses didn't seem to make it around a ton, but they weren't too bad, and it was easy to get attention at one of the bars. The tables and seats were pretty nice, and the main floor felt like it wasn't terribly old, or it had been recently updated. The stage had a fog machine running and lots of lights. The group of dancers there the night I visited was one of the most diverse I've seen. There were women of pretty much every background - white, black, asian, south pacific, etc. They tended thin, though there were a few curvier ones. Several dancers stopped by to say hello. A few had excellent English, a couple others not so much. None was interested in a very long conversation (which was probably good; the club was louder than average), but none got perturbed if I turned them down. The lap dances were $10 each, with no extra for going back or bar tab or anything. The lap dance area, unfortunately, did not have the same upkeep as the rest of the club. The area was behind one of the bars and was just a series of small, open stalls with wooden walls and bad chairs. I guess they were reasonably private if people weren't walking by, but there wasn't much else to recommend them. The space was as cramped as that at Bar Downtown (which is squeezed into a building with much less space than Amazones has) with worse chairs and no curtains. The dances themselves were pretty good. The dancers allowed contact (except between the legs) and several were nicely sensual rather than mechanical. They were all of a kind, though, and no one dancer really stood out at all. At one point a bunch of police officers came in and wandered around, talking to a few people. This is something I've seen in other clubs in Montreal and appears to be a regular event. I don't know what they're looking for, but they left after maybe ten minutes without any obvious incident. Overall, my experience at Les Amazones was meh. I quite enjoyed the diversity of the dancers. But the lap dance area was pretty grungy and it was a longer trip than many other clubs since I was staying downtown. I wouldn't avoid it, but I don't know that I'd go out of my way for it either.

Didn't Live Up to TUSCL Rating
Came here based on the ratings of fellow TUSCLers and was kinda surprised by the mediocrity of the place. We took an Uber from downtown to get to this club, which took about 15-20 mins. Once we arrived, a bouncer opened the door for us and we walked down what seemed like two flights of stairs until we meet the door girl. We showed IDs and paid cover and headed to the smaller/less crowded bar near the stage. Ordered a couple Jack & Cokes for me and my buddy and was informed that their credit card machine didn't work...paid cash and thought about moving to the other bar. The drinks were extremely weak, and when the bartender asked how the drinks were, I was very honest and said it didn't taste like there was any alcohol, so she showed me her bottle and it had those automatic pour stoppers on them, so she couldn't really give anymore, instead, poured our next drinks in a smaller glass with less Coke. Anyways, onto the dancers. There seemed like a good mix. Plenty of white (both good English and French accents), a few black ladies, and believe it or not, two Asians. One of the Asians was absolutely beautiful, with blonde hair and was rather tall (she seemed like she was 5'8"). I saw her stage dances and she disappeared. Was told that she was extremely popular and would be in the VIP dance area the entire evening. There were a few other lookers, but most of them seemed boring. Conversation was whatever, and some had bad hygiene (bad breath). It was getting late and I was looking forward to experiencing at least one dance, so I decided I would accept the next invitation to the private dance area. I was approached by a thick Asian dancer who had a beautiful face. She was really nice and her smile made me melt, so away we went. A word to the wise, note that the lap dance area has shortened songs!!! I didn't realize it since the music was low, but the songs must've been no longer than 2 mins each. Maybe a min and a half! Dances started adding up quick, so I had to stop before I blew all of my Canadian dollars. The dances were nice. Full contact, topless, and some stick shifting, but nothing inappropriate. I didn't get the feeling that extras were available since there were always people walking back and forth. Around 1a, we decided to head back downtown and call it a night. Overall, I was a little disappointed with the club. The number of ladies working was a little underwhelming since it was a Thursday evening (didn't even seem like 20). And they just didn't have much of a vibe. Was also disappointed that they had a ton of huge TVs but only played stupid music videos instead of anything on TV (NBA Finals going on that night). I could see myself returning, but only for the cheap dances. Drinks were weak and the overall environment was less than I would have expected.
