Slippers and Centerfolds seem overpriced, worth it to leave the city?

Been to Boston a few times, but never hit the clubs. Looks like only 2 in city limits, and reading the reviews, they seem expensive for what you get. I'll be visiting again next year, and might have a small window to go to a club, so wondering if it's worth it to hop on a train or Uber to the suburbs.
