Since TUSCL is a safe space for modern-day Archie Bunkers, maybe I can get some advice about getting that special chair that you kick everyone else out of. I'd like to get a high-back recliner that is comfortable, long-lasting and reasonably priced. Since I prefer to stay mobile, I like the ones that you can easily take apart into 4+ pieces.

I guess you guys all sit on benches with holes from high heels in the cheap upholstery at home to remind you of fun times in the club.

I got a new favorite chair a few years ago. You won’t find long lasting and reasonably priced in the same chair. My advice is google. I initially balked at the higher priced ones but when I started thinking about how much time I would spend in it realized the spend was worth it. Think of it this way, you can get a Kia or Hyundai that looks and drives like the comparable Honda or Toyota for the first 5 years but then you start getting nickled and dimed on maintenance. Either spend more for the quality or plan to replace a lot more often.

I have a powered Lazy Boy leather recliner. It’s part of a larger sofa set. For years it has been known as “dad’s chair” and everyone knows not to sit there - except the dog. Once when I was out of town, my family let the dog sit in my chair (they thought it was funny - it’s not) Now he thinks it’s his chair and it’s hard to get his big 80 lb ass out of there when I want to sit down and watch tv.
