TJ next week

Hi folks,

Heading to TJ next week for the first time in about two years. Will be there Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday night,

On my more recent trips I have had more luck with Chicago Club than HK, so debating if I will get a room at Cascadas or not.

I have been keeping up with the reviews and discussions, but curious if anyone has any other recent updates. Are the $30 wine drinks still a thing or have those gone away? Is $120 the going rate for arriba? (I have been going long enough to remember when it was $60).

Also, anything usual to expect at the border? I will be using either the Trolley or Uber to go back and forth from downtown.

Thanks

Hey @rugrat, welcome back.

  • the $30 wine ficha scam seems to be more or less a thing of the past. When I was there last month, I didn’t have any ladies try it on me. But as always, YMMV.

  • the going rate for arriba at HK indeed is $120. Some ladies will try to charge $150 or even $200. But the good news is that many ladies will do arriba for $100, particularly the older ones.

  • as far as the PedEast crossing into TJ, I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. Same when heading back into the US. I wouldn’t anticipate any problems.

Rugrat, things do change at the border from time to time, and if it's been two years since your last visit, here's one of them:

The trolleys used to run fairly late at night, and for quite a while the last train north departed from San Ysidro around 12:30 am. However, if you're planning to use the trolley back to SD, the last departure north from San Ysidro is now 10:34 pm, even on weekends.

rugrat - Weekends are usually busier in ZN clubs ( especially on Saturdays ), so I am sure you’ll have FUN in TJ.

In regards to current pricing, well in my experience it’s mostly YMMV with Mexican chicas. So, if you play your cards right with these pretty ladies ( excluding the infamous GPS crew/ usually stationed at HK on weekends/nights - Lol ), then regardless of whatever the going rate may be which I hardly ever pay attention to anyways ( b/w $120 to $150 ) you’ll get a break.

Also, do check out the smaller bars ( LGB, GP & CC ) coz IMO lately they seem to be offering a much better bang for the buck ( compared to HK, which I am mostly using nowadays as a hangout for only drinks with my prearranged ATF’s and ofcourse their well appointed rooms w/ceiling mirrors ).

Besides nothing much has changed at the border crossing as of this past Tuesday. Maybe you might experience a slight wait time at the pedestrian border-crossing lane, otherwise nothing major or concerning.

Have FUN😁

Thanks PAFBABS. Probably just hit Chicago club Saturday night, then will hit HK with a room at Cascades Monday and Tuesday.

rugrat - You’re Welcome & Excellent idea! CC should be decent on a Saturday night, Plus staying at Cascades on Monday/Tuesday is a great choice/value. Have Fun 👍🏻
