INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after a person was critically injured in a shooting on Indy’s west side Sunday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just after 3 a.m., officers were called to 3551 Lafayette Rd. — the listed address for a strip club called The Pony — on the report of a person shot. When officers arrived on scene, they located an individual with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.
The shooting victim was later transported from the scene to an area hospital in critical condition.
IMPD’s report on the shooting indicates that detectives identified two suspects, three victims and two witnesses during their investigation. It’s currently unclear if all three of the victims were shot, injured in another way or subjects of a different crime entirely.
IMPD’s report also lists a handgun and a motor vehicle as the weapons involved in the incident. Supplemental reports on the incident also show that a 35-year-old man was arrested on a preliminary charge of interfering with law enforcement — a Class B Misdemeanor.

There has been at least one previous shooting at the Pony I know of. Someone was kicked out by the security guy for unacceptable behavior and then drove their car around to the entrance where he was standing and shot him.
It is this kind of thing along with in the club drug use and prostitution that drives away law abiding customers and those who want a safe environment. The city puritan types and city government are always looking for reasons to shut down these clubs and this gives them reasons. The smarter club owners try to curtail such activities in the club but have less control over the parking lots.
