Charlie Kirk assassinated

Avatar for gammanu95
gammanu95Have you ever tried to stick a silver dollar into a stripper's G-string?

Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated today while speaking at Utah Valley University. He leaves behind a wife and two, young daughters.

Charlie Kirk was known for visiting colleges and universities, in the United States and Europe, to speak to students and correct their misconceptions and beliefs about culture, history, and politics. Despite lacking a college degree, he consistently bested professors and advanced students in debate using facts and logic.

He was considered a controversial figure for sharing deeply held Conservative beliefs about American excellence, trans insanity, pro-life views, conservative values, and the benefits of meritocracy.

The shooter is still at large. President Trump has ordered that flags be lowered to half-staff. Turning Point USA has closed its offices and suspended operations until no sooner than Monday. President Trump has asked that the nation pray for his family.

Back on topic, I knew his name but not much about him, maybe because we're from different generations. Speaking of ironies in my post above it's ironic that someone from the 'peaceful' left is likely the killer.

You know what I didn't really follow Charlie too much or the other conservative influencers but I've seen them around. Seemed like a really bright guy with a big time future ahead, I mean definitely a guy you could see running for president in a couple decades time. Very sad. I looked on reddit, most of them are celebrating in blood lust. It's really sick man. I see very violent times in our country up ahead.

It was pretty obvious he was dead a few hours ago for anyone who had the misfortune of seeing the close up video of the shooting (I unfortunately did). It was very graphic, he appeared to be shot in the jugular, and he lost so much blood immediately that it was clearly not survivable.

I'm surprised the shooter is not in custody yet. They arrested an elderly white man (who I believe may have been a Kirk protester, he allegedly has a reputation for being crazy), but he has been released and is no longer a suspect. I find that odd.

It has also been reported that the shot was fired from roughly 200 yards away; that was done by someone who is used to handling heavy weaponry to be able to carry out the murder in one extremely effective shot.

Very sad for his young daughters.

On a flippant note, I'm wondering if Trey Parker and Matt Stone are going to hit the studio soon to tweak or rewrite next week's South Park episode, or whether they will use it for material at all.

This is going to have a lot of ramifications for America.

This is typical left-wing behavior. They can never win an argument on substance, so they silence their opposition by shouting them down. In this case, the whack-job took it further and decided to silence him permanently. But it's the same concept.

It all starts with those ridiculous Congressional "hearings." They aren't there to "hear" anything from anyone. They ask a presumptive and nuanced question, but then demand a "yes or no" response, refusing to allow even the slightest explanation. They just keep shouting, "Yes or no, yes or no, yes or no?" Then it's, "Okay, I'll take your lack of response to mean ____________ <<insert statement they're trying to force upon the audience>>.

Charlie is dead because he was effective. He didn't force anyone to attend his events. He let everyone speak their mind. Then he asked thought provoking questions that countered the mindless drivel his detractors would put forth. In the eyes of the radical left, that's cause for murder.

We have a gun violence epidemic in this country. We've tried nothing so far and nothing has worked. I'm begging you conservatives to ask your red representatives to do better.

Lowering the flags for a commentator is insane. The President of the US tweeting about his death is not normal. He was not a US representative or government official. He doesn't deserve it any more than any member of this board does. Less than Founder probably.

I know most of you only know how to react with rage because it's the only emotion you've been allowed to show. But please try to remember your empathy. We need gun control, more resources for mental health, less tariffs, more jobs, higher wages, lower prices.

We can do better. Sadly I know we won't. But we can.

JamesSD wins the race to the bottom. This is not about gun violence, this is about inciting violence against political opponents. POTUS is well within his rights to have the flags lowered to mourn the death of an influential national figure, and to mourn a political assassination driven by the hateful rhetoric of the left. Most people on this thread have not reacted with rage to the death of Charlie Kirk, only you. I have, until your post, been impressed with the restraint shown. Icey is ignored, can be expected to troll, and does not count. Gun control will not stop radicalized assassinations, nor was there any indication this was about mental health, trade, or the economy.

Yes, YOU should be better, and I do not believe you can.

There was also a school shooting today. Every time these shootings happen people are upset briefly and then there is a complete refusal to change any gun control laws or consider any change at all. If we repeatedly refuse to act to change anything how will all of this gun violence ever get any better? Why would it? It will likely get worse.

Charlie Kirk was viewed as a Conservative "Messiah" by the radical Left/Dems; the last thing this hateful political movement wanted was another Rush Limbaugh.

Charlie reached the 13-30 year olds that the Radical Left have been indoctrinating for decades. There are like 3,500 TPUSA Chapters in high schools and colleges, and posed a massive threat to these hateful people.

Dowd was fired by MSNBC/MSDNC tonight even through I have no doubts that the Leftist MSM, including NPR/PBS, were doing Hi-5s and popping Champagne corks.

Dem political heads sent their "prayers and sympathy" - this was just a "required" response, don't fucking believe they aren't cheering. One came from Biden, loke he actually did it himself. These people are "Monsters from the Id" - some will know my reference - and there is no stopping them.

In 14 months, we've had 3 assignation attempts, one was successful today, and yet the Trump shooters we've heard zippy-do-DA about.

This shooter seems to have had a well-planned escape plan. I hope the shooter is found, and all connections are tracked down and held accountable too.

As far as Icey and cohorts - you people are sick, perverted, ignorant problems to American society.

Very sad news indeed and my thoughts are with his wife and his children. Charlie was well known over here and I often watched videos of him at Campuses and also as a guest on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored shows. He had a way of responding to left wing nut jobs that often left them speechless. It seems like we are like America, over here free speech is loved by the left, as long as it is a view they share. The question is, should we tolerate the intolerant?

@londonguy : I hope we agree that Charlie Kirk was not the intolerant, but those who killed him for his beliefs are the intolerant. In that vein, no, we cannot tolerate the intolerant. To label people you disagree with as "racist", "nazi", "White supremacist," has somehow translated into permitting violence against them as acceptable. The liberals on here do that, the liberals on TV and in Congress have done that, and the results have been Charlie Kirk assassinated, Trump shot once and a second attempt just weeks later, Dave Chappelle attacked on stage, Tucker Carlson's home attacked, home invasion where Justice Kavanaugh and his family were sleeping, and many more we have not heard about.

The left's intolerance for Conservative values should no longer be tolerated, but not met with the intolerant behavior that the left uses. We can continue in the same way Charlie Kirk did. With open dialog, a willingness to disagree, a desire to have uncomfortable conversations that may result in personal change and growth. I never heard him use the crude and disparaging terms we do on here, but he also willing called out wokeness, DEI scams, and fraudsters. He was murdered because he did that effectively, and he refused to cave to the intolerant mobs and personal attacks that he encountered in the regular course of his work.

There are recent videos of him, from Turning Point UK, where he was in England (at Oxford, maybe?) debating those students and professors on their home turf. There were no stiff upper lips or jolly old English, those liberals are just as rude, dishonest, and irrational as their counterparts here. Charlie Kirk again, gleefully, engaged with with charm, wit, and facts. We need more of that in the whole of the western world. That his murder took his unique brand of open dialog and exchange from us is one of the greater tragedies in this whole event.

If the FBI can find the shooter, I hope this time we learn everything about this assassin. This is the 3rd in 14 months and yet we no NOTHING about the 1st two who tried to assassinate Trump.

Reporting a bolt-action rifle was found. No idea if this was the weapon until a ballistics test can be performed.

This killing was a clear attack on Conservatives, political speech and more grossly the 1stA.

This is just another in an escalating tit for tat series of assassinations/assassination attempts. It's only going to escalate.

I never understood the "Peaceful Left" thing. Democrats like to preach peace, but the left has rifle associations and militias ... just like the right. Anyone who is pearl clutching over people saying bad things about Kirk getting shot, better have also clutched pearls when Melissa Hortman was assassinated. When Pelosi's husband was attacked in his home. When mosques and schools get shot. And anyone who was upset at those things better be upset about this too.

It's morally wrong to do what was done yesterday. It's got to be expected at this point. We endorsed the rhetoric, destabilized the country, tanked the economy and then act shocked when the violence called for from all sides, is taken up by the newly disaffected with nothing to lose.

This is the bed we all made. Step up and fix it, or get a helmet and a fresh magazine.

Looks like a fine pistol but when it comes to protection only in the home.

For concealed carry imo it's far from perfect for a newbi. Too large and heavy and it has to be carried cocked and locked to enable a quick defensive reaction.
Also the compensator could be a liability to the shooter if used in close quarters, shooting from the hip, etc, as the muzzle blast could injure the shooter. Plus that light trigger pull is ripe for an accidental discharge from a novice.

A carry piece has to be a personal individual choice that can only be discovered by handling and learning the operation of various designs.
My 2 cents.

People like Rush Limbaugh, Tucker Carlson, Charlie Kirk, Dan Bongino, Fox News, etc are an influential threat to the Democrats who have been trying since FDR to garner permanent power and control.

Charlie was a deeply, religious, Christian which the Left sees as a serious threat as the Left expect you to worship at their Alter. Note how Christians and Jews are continually attacked. Even the FBI was weaponized to label Catholics as "American Terrorists" as they are anti-abortion.

Trump was a threat to the Left and two assassination attempts were made on him, not to mention the prosecutions by a weaponized (in)Justice system.

I say Democrats as they have fired up the radicals in their party to a point they've created "Monster From The Id" who think they are "saving" America. The Oct 1917 Russian Revolution was prosecuted by the Lenin's Bolsheviks. who were a very small minority, so yes it can happen here.

At the last Constitutional Convention, 1792, Ben Franklin was asked what kind of government is being created, and he said "A Republic, if you can keep it."

I recently saw a video of Charlie Kirk's first interview when he was 18, along with 2 other kids on Fox & Friends. He sounded and looks the same at 31 as he did at 18. The clarity and focus in his voice and delivery is a once in a generation person. If there is such a thing as reincarnation, Charlie Kirk was embedded with a soul like Socrates who to was killed for "corrupting" youth by undermining Athenian values teaching to question authority, debate ethics, and etc. He was a threat to the same age group Charlie was strongly connecting to and the Left/MSM saw him as a serious threat.

Trump got the young voters, and this is a serious threat to The Left. Charlie was killed as a threat by a group or Useful Idiot Lone Wolf. Someone will pick-up where he left off. 3,500 TPUSA chapters in high Schools and colleges is pretty amazing, and he was a college dropout and self-taught. Amazing. He welcomed all to debate and talk with him.

I've seen the Oxford video - he politely schooled them and with a smile.

@mogul1985 where are you seeing Jews being attacked? They are one of the most protected groups in America and Europe- to the point theres holocaust denial laws and both sides in America agreed to ban speech critical of Jews.

Also Tucker Carlson is deeply, deeply anti Israel. Ever since he left fox news he has been increasingly anti Israel. If someone like tucker is attacked i would assume its mossad/israel, because of how anti israel tucker has become.

Its actually everyone besides Jews that are attacked. The right is encouraged to hate minorities, Muslims, the left is encouraged to hate whites, Christians. Neither side hates Jews outside of some of the pro Palestinian protesters

^ Best gun for home defense is a pump action shotgun, I keep a mossberg loaded in an easy accessible location. I carry a .380 Auto, S & W Bodyguard, nice and lightweight pistol made with lightweight ballistic material the only steel is the barrel, makes it an easy to carry and it’s not the biggest caliber, but it has decent stopping power.
Reason I say pump action shotgun is if you ever need it it can be caked with mud and will still blow a hole the size of a grapefruit in anyone, and when you pump it, I guarantee you’ll get any body’s immediate attention

@chunkychicano - where are you hiding? Jewish interns were murdered. How about the Pro-Hamas riots and Antisemitism on the Ivy League campuses? I just did a Grok to get the crime stats from the FBI. Didn't want to waste time on YOU by typing it out.

"Since October 7, 2023, antisemitic incidents have risen sharply, with data showing significant increases in hate crimes against Jews in various regions. In the U.S., the FBI reported a 63% surge in anti-Jewish hate crimes in 2023, with 1,832 incidents compared to 1,122 in 2022, marking the highest number ever recorded. While the exact portion of these incidents occurring after October 7 is not specified, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) noted a 140% increase in antisemitic incidents (both criminal and non-criminal) for 2023, totaling 8,873 incidents, with a significant spike following the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. In 2024, the FBI reported a further 16% rise in anti-Jewish hate crimes, reaching 2,321 incidents. The ADL’s 2024 audit recorded 9,354 antisemitic incidents, a 5% increase from 2023."

The left can rest easy that there will be no escalating tit-for-tat reprisals. That is a myth that has ever been borne out by the facts of history. They do need to be afraid that the true evil of their radical ideology and online radicalization of young people is glaringly apparent. Leftist and liberal bloggers on social media are no different, at all, from the online propagandists of ISIS which led to so many other domestic terror attacks during Obama's terms. Democrat and socialist politicians are no different, at all, than the Taliban which protected USL and other AQ figures as they unleashed terror attacks against America. A yougov poll shows that democrat voters approve of political violence by a margin of over 2:1 versus Republican voters, and approve of celebrating the death and mocking the mourners of a political figure you dislike by similar margins.

There is no equivalence between the first attempt on Trump's life, which killed a volunteer fire chief and wounded three more, Charlie's Kirk's assassination, and the Congressional softball team and what happened in MN and Paul Pelosi. The left vilified and dehumanized Trump, Kirk, and the Republicans as "hatemongers", "fascists", "evil", "threats to democracy", and "wanting to kill Grandma." When someone believes them and acts on it they denounce violence for a couple of days and go right back to it. Trump's wounds had not even scabbed over before leftists resumed their dehumanization. The leftist comments in the wake of Kirk's murder are worse than abhorrent. There was no celebration on the right after MN or SF and those attacks were not committed in public with intent to derail and silence the opposition. It is a false equivalency and fails to refute the facts.

As a Conservative and an American, I will never wish harm upon or commit political violence against fellow Americans over political disagreements. However, I commit myself, as all Conservative Republicans and patriots should, to fighting back against the hateful ideology of the liberal left. I will not stand shoulder-to-shoulder with a democrat and denounce political violence. I will stand against the democrats, denounce political violence, denounce their hateful rhetoric, denounce their radicalization, and denounce their destructive politics. They gin up support and gain power by tapping into a reservoir of weakness and pain in our population and turn it against fellow Americans who have a different vision of the path to peace and prosperity. As sinclair pointed out earlier - attacking and killing the political opposition are the tactics of the Nazis, the Communists, the Khmer Rouge, Mussolini's fascists, the death squads of African and South American despots. It is not the tactic of an American whether you call yourself Republican or Democrat, but it is the tactic used by the democrat party. I denounce those who use and support those tactics and I will fight against them. If you agree (and especially if you do not), I suggest this short video:
