I prefer wearing some type of soft cloth rather than something like denim, just for the sake of the dancer's skin. There might be some type of lotion that can help, but I'm not sure how easy it is for a dancer to get rid of that irritation after the fact? I also try to avoid zippers, or pretty much anything that I think could be irritating to a dancer's skin...
