Bummer, I was totally hoping for a kick-ass, MAGA-on-MAGA smackdown thread. MAGAts always manage to disappoint.

Aren’t they basically the same people? So you enjoy watching two of the same kind going after each other? That’s like watching me and my wife try to have another kid.

I've always wondered what it must be like to actually be a grown man with so little emotional control, critical thinking or personal character that I would actually be stupid enough to vote for the current brand of Democrat...🤔

Anyhoo, I digress...

This is more like the Florida AG against the Tates. The Florida AG is a separate statewide elected office. With all of the allegations leveled against the brothers, it's only prudent to give it another look now that they've settled in Florida.

RMD, anyone with a lick of sense is pro-Israel. Israel has endured an almost constant state of siege for decades, funded largely by Iran but tacitly supported by certain other countries. This includes random rockets being fired onto its soil, suicide bombers and other nonsense. Yet up until recently, Israel has largely stayed its hand in doing anything about it.

People who look at Israel as some type of powerful nation looking to perpetrate aggression have to be utter fucking morons. We're talking about a tiny nation the size of New Jersey with only 10 million people, surrounded by hundreds of millions of Arabs who aren't very fond of them. Who with a lick of sense thinks that they WANT conflict? Do you really think that they enjoy forcing every 18 year old to serve two years in the military?

The difference between Israel and Hamas is that Israel does everything it can to warn civilians to get out of the way while Hamas targets them, even raping women and killing children with intent. Israel tries to protect its women and children, while Hamas uses theirs as human shields. Indeed Hamas does everything it can to put its own civilians in harms way, including telling citizens to ignore Israeli warnings, so that they can point to more civilian deaths in their endless PR efforts.

It's time to finish of Hamas and stop supporting this ridiculous fairy tale of "refugee camps" already. The Palestinians joined other Arab nations in trying to push Israel into the sea and they lost. Either the Palestinians can start behaving like grown adults and govern their own state responsibly or they can be absorbed into the other Arab nations.

I wish I had time on my hands to research these issues. I’m too busy feeding my family and my fat ass to absorb anything more than my feelings….

^ Ample research is not required when you have better sources. I find the WSJ and FT to be worth every nickel. If I had to rely upon puff sources like MSNBC, CNN or even Puffpost, I might be as ignorant as RMD. 😉

@rickdugan I’m in agreement with 97% of your post about Israel, where we differ is not that Iran doesn’t cause a large percentage of Israel’s problems but you’re leaving out the puppet master controlling the Ayatollahs, Russias Vladimir Putin. This latest round is Putin’s best chance to distract from his own failures in the Ukraine. That said you have the right idea. Iran gets lots of cash and military equipment and support from Russia in return they provide the Russians with drones for their military and intelligence services about what is happening in the Middle East, and weapons to supply their proxies, like Hezbollah, Hamas, The Houthis etc.

RMD: (1) Not a single thing I posted was "debunked" - it is entirely accurate and well reported; (2) Jews had ancestral claims on those lands too; (3) The bulk of Israel's "growth" was the result of responding to attacks on the country; and (4) you still haven't explained why a tiny country the size of New Jersey with only 10 million people (only 8 million of whom are Jews) would want conflict with the Arab world.

The difference between a terrorist and a soldier is that terrorists target civilians, while soldiers target terrorists and other soldiers. Terrorists celebrate civilian casualties while soldiers try to avoid them and, when they happen, mourn them.

Israel has bent over backwards for many years to avoid civilian casualties for the simple reason that each one brings world pressure on them and their supporters. Even when they went after Hamas, they dropped flyers, made phone calls and sent texts to every phone they knew of in the targeted areas. Hamas, OTOH, in its fervent desire to keep those human shields in place, actually pulled stunts like telling them that the messages were just a ploy and that the Palestinians should stay. Again well documented.

Now the one thing I will partially agree on is that the Palestinians got screwed. They were originally told that they would have all the land when the British finally ceded the territory and, instead, a chunk of it was given to the Jews. A big reason for that was that there was already a significant population of Jews there who had their own ancestral claims in play and nobody could think of anyplace else to send the Holocaust survivors. And it was hardly the Jews alone who were involved; the British implemented this approach with the concurrence of several other countries, including the U.S. The Jews had to go somewhere and nobody else wanted them.

So I get that the Palestinians still harbor some resentment, but it doesn't justify decades of abhorrent terrorist behavior by several Arab factions, including of course Hamas. The Palestinians, in league with several Arab nations, tried not once but twice to eradicate the Jewish state. They failed and modern day Israel is the result. Almost everyone who was involved in the original conflicts are dead - it's time to move on.

===> "I get Rick youre in florida… that doesnt mean desantis is some perfect human being…."

I never said that he was. I'm merely questioning the entire premise of this thread, which is the notion that DeSantis' hostility towards that Tates is somehow a great MAGA betrayal. Those brothers are bonified scumbags. I'm glad they left the state and I'm guessing so too are a majority of Floridians who know anything about this.

What I do not like about DeSantis is how he courted Trump's most zealous followers during the primaries by trying to out-Trump Trump. It was never going to work and, frankly, it played away from all of his strengths.

What I do like about DeSantis is that he has been a very effective Governor. Common sense and personal freedoms hold great sway here. He has been a responsible steward of our economy and has overseen Florida's emergence as the top rated state for education in the country (as ranked by U.S. News and World Report).

All of which is why Florida flipped from purple to solid red under his watch. Heck if he could run for a third-term, I strongly believe that he would be re-elected in a landslide.

Now you're just all over the place RMD.

The notion that tiny Israel wants to subjugate much larger Arab countries is patently ludicrous. So is your moral equivalency argument, unless you're contending that Israel has been lobbing rockets into Muslim civilian targets for years with the sole goal of maximizing civilian casualties.

And yes, if the so-called governments of neighboring territories cannot put a stop to terrorists using their cities to attack your country, then at some point you have to take matters into your own hands. Israel has shown extraordinary restraint for decades, due in no small part to pressure from the U.S. not to cause a "wider conflict."

Hamas viscously attacking defenseless Israeli civilians en masse was just the straw that broke the camel's back. The loss of 1,200 people in a country so small is the statistical equivalent of an attack on the U.S. killing 400,000.

And again, yes, the Palestinians got shafted in the mid to late 40s by a large coalition of countries. Israel was a natural dumping ground for the Holocaust survivors since there were Jews already there with ancestral roots and claims, so Israel it was. It was a very convenient way to alleviate pressure on the other countries to accept refugees that they simply did not want.

But it's over. Two wars have been fought and the Palestinians lost. The last war was almost 60 years ago. It's time for this "refugee camp" fairy tale to end. Multiple times the Palestinians have rejected a two state solution as it would have meant making peace, taking responsibility for their own actions and, of course, abandoning this nonsensical claim of refugee status. It's time that they either change course of get moved out.

@RMD I hesitate to bother responding to you because you are very well known as a troll, and it appears to me that you are not only trolling this anti semitic nonsense, but you’re also posting centuries old nonsense tropes. Fact is the Israelis have attempted to aid the Palestinian people since its inception in 1948, they have been rebuffed at every step of the way. Jewish people have legitimate claim to the land of Israel with over 5000 years of continuous existence in this land. There is no such thing as a Palestinian it’s a made up construct that was created by the Romans during their occupation of the land. These people you’re referring to are Egyptian, Jordanian, Lebanese and Syrian people that actually seized land from the Jewish people that lived there originally, prior to their being enslaved in Egypt many millennia ago. If you want to know more there is plenty of documentation available, but you’ll need to look it up and do the research yourself. Meanwhile shut the fuck up about things you obviously know nothing about, it’s annoying and tiresome.

Proof that RMD is just trolling is in all of his declaring statements Just to outline a few Never was a Palestinian passport, there was a British passport issued from about 1925-1948 that called the area mandatory Palestine under British Authority Israel has never stated that they have nuclear weapons and nothing exists in the public domain that confirms your statement Israel has never attacked anyone except in self defense Yes I am seventy one so fucking what, I’ve never had negative thoughts about anyone regardless of their race, or creed, and actually understand the issues Like I said before son, the facts are available if you’re interested and willing to research them, you simply don’t have them, and you’re an idiot to even consider questioning my morals, you really don’t know what the fuck you are talking about.

^ you have the same problem as many of the others you like to use straw man tactics and try to twist what others say, I never said Israel didn’t have nukes, I did point out that you can’t know this I don’t have a clue who is djkhaled so why would I wish him harm Golda Meir wouldn’t have said that, There has never been a country recognized by any governing body named Palestine No the IDF has never acted offensively except to protect Israel from an external threat Whether or not Jeffrey Epstein has committed any crimes has less than nothing to do with his being Jewish Again it’s long past time for you to shut the fuck up. Don’t expect me to respond to you again you are a troll, a misogynist, and a bigoted fool. You’ve just proved it beyond the shadow of a doubt

===> "I dont understand the concept of taking land based on if someone attacked you from that land. That is something no modern country would agree with, even Israel itself wouldnt agree with. "

Except that obviously Israel DOES agree with that, lol, at least in certain circumstances.

When you get attacked over and over and over again from the same strategic position, there comes a point where the only way to prevent future attacks is to remove that position from the hands of the people attacking you (or their enablers as the case may be). Even more so when the enemy is intentionally targeting your civilians.
