Reservation at Hotel Cascadas
Yesterday, I decided to call the 877 number listed on hotel website to book a reservation. Heres my experience:
-
Spoke with one lady who said she was responsible for limo reservations. Told me to hold for hotel reservations. Held for a while.
-
Guy answers takes my name, asked for arrival date and time. Then goes in detail about how he also provides limo service from San Diego airport for $90.00 and how he’s Mr. All things TJ/Hong Kong!
-
Tells me he will submit the request to hotel and he would send me the confirmation once hotel confirms. He then texts me his business card with Hong Kong and Cascadas logo’s and a gmail email address (usually red flag for me)
Unbeknownst to him I have done some extensive research, talked to a few of you OG TJ guys (much appreciated fellas!!!)
Is this the normal process for booking a room?
Still have not received a confirmation!
About to go online and book, just wanted to check in with the group, since this is my first go around

last commentThose dudes in Mexico aren’t going to set up an email server like jose@cascadas.org just to book PLs hotel rooms.
I agree though when I get a Gmail or yahoo address for a rather sizeable business I’m like ????
Don't bother calling for hotel reservation.
Do it online.
Cascada reservation on HK Tijuana.com
Rizo reservation on tropical bar.com
No deposit required.
Make sure you have a Hong Kong VIP card when you check in... 70% discount on Monday and Tuesday. Otherwise 20% discount rest of the week.
cash deposit required. The cash deposit varies according to the room. The more the room costs the higher the deposit required.
presently there are eight drinks in the mini fridge. When you check in to your room make sure that that particular selection of drinks is correct in both type of drink and number of drinks. If it's not correct tell the front desk and have them note it on the deposit slip. You will need that deposit slip when you check out. They will check the drinks and charge you for missing drinks. The last time I was there it was $40 cash deposit required for a single room.
Getting back to the VIP card... The Hong Kong VIP card cost $70 and works at both Cascada and Rizo. The tropical bar VIP card cost $50 and works only at Rizo. Both VIP cards give other perks at their respective clubs. I buy the HK VIP card because of bigger dollar price discounts due to higher HK drink prices. both VIP cards give 20% discount at Azul and senda Norte restaurants.
Also the VIP cards give a discount on Club souvenirs hats and t-shirts,
Also discount price on a lap dance.
and free drink every 12 hours.
Hong Kong VIP card gives free entry when they are charging entry fee. Hotel bracelet from Cascada or Rizo also gives you free Hong Kong entry. and free Zona shuttle to the border.
VIP card is only good now for 3 month time. The price is are going up over time and the discount is less than it used to be But I think it still worth it for the hotel discount if you stay three or four nights during the life of the VIP card.
Have fun and enjoy your visit!

So true! Whole interaction was just weird!
@Jascoi, yup. I have all that info locked in from reading reviews, guides and dm’s with a few of the OG’s! Was just curious if this was a normal practice when booking. I mainly called to ask questions about room types
the room types and photos are also on the websites.
@jascoi I saw the photos. Still had a few questions regarding the room type. Mainly based upon other guys feedback I wanted to try and get a room blocked in a quieter floor/area of hotel
Good luck on your trying to find a quiet spot.
You can try and request a specific area when you check in. It usually doesn't work when you make your reservation. And believe it or not one of my favorite Cascada.rooms is on the third floor.
A lot of the Hotel noise depends on your neighbors surrounding you. I guess bring some ear plugs just in case.
