SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating following a shooting outside a North Side strip club early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called around 2 a.m. to Sugar’s strip club in the 2700 block of NW Loop 410 not far from Vance Jackson Road after receiving word of shots fired.

According to police, a man had walked out of the back door of the strip club and was walking to his car when he saw three men roughhousing in the parking lot. That’s when, police say, the man told the men to keep that away from him and one of the men instead pulled out a gun and fired.

Police said the man pulled out his own gun and returned fire, hitting one of the men twice in shoulder. He then ducked behind a vehicle for cover. The wounded man ran to a nearby retail store where called for help, police said.

SAPD said everyone involved in the shooting was detained while everything gets sorted out. The wounded man was taken to University Hospital in stable condition.


The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all answered the call.

Investigators did not say what charges are expected to filed.

    Texas is always fighting for that Floriduh title. Seems like 90% of the news articles I’ve read this summer about someone getting shot takes place in Texas.

    These 2 am ers show me that there’s no reason to stay at a club anywhere near closing time. The chance of something good happening is far outweighed by the likelihood of something very bad happening.

    ^^^ yes you have to worry about getting shot, a drunk Rick Dugan running over your foot in the parking lot, Juice trying to talk you into going to Waffle House with him or CJ Kent confronting you about if you sniffed any strippers gstrings while you were inside (because he just sits outside since he’s never been inside a strip club before).

    You’re better off going at 4pm and being in bed by 8pm like jackslash does.

    ^ Agreed. Fronting Juice $10 so he can buy scratch offs at the convenience store and treat a few strippers to sausage biscuits at Waffle House is an image I don’t want it my mind!

    The Ricks can be a scary band of beasts leaving a club parking lot.

    I keep confusing CJ Kent with SJG - as their posts carry the same dead weight.

    I wouldn’t mind seeing CJ Kent and SJG getting blown off their feet as Rick Dugan runs his chariot pulled by the Rick menagerie out of the parking lot…

    I used to live in San Antonio. It is not a good idea to start shooting because so many people are armed. I knew a grandmother in her 60s who carried a pistol in her purse.

    Clubbing from 4pm to 8pm works for me.
