What happened to the navigation

I’m on an An IPhone 11 running safari but the nav buttons were on the bottom now covered by that as described all of a sudden
Mine is showing those same 4 buttons just like it has for a while with a menu at the top left and search at the top right. Using Chrome on an android phone.
