PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) - A man damaged a strip club in Clearwater when he took a hatchet to the business after being kicked out of the establishment for not paying his tab, authorities said.
William Andrew Roy, 35, of Largo, was arrested for petit theft, criminal mischief and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He remains in custody at the Pinellas County Jail.
According to an affidavit, Roy was escorted out of the Oz Gentlemen's Club, 13577 US-19, after he was unable to pay his tab for five Bud Lights, worth $26.25.
Roy later returned to the business with a hatchet and began swinging the weapon "with the intent to harm the bouncer who escorted him out," the affidavit states.
In fear for their safety, the bouncer and other customers ran inside the establishment. It's unclear if anyone was harmed.
Roy continued swinging the weapon and damaged the front door. The damage is said to be greater than $1,000, according to the report.
Roy was booked into the Pinellas County Jail, where he's being held on a $32,250 bond.
