LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police were seeking a suspect Saturday morning after a woman died following an early morning shooting outside a strip club on Lexington’s east side.
The Fayette County Coroner said 27-year-old Iesha Edwards died of a gunshot wound just before 3 a.m. at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Police tell LEX 18 that Edwards was standing outside the The Fox Club, 987 Winchester Road, about 2:30 a.m. when she was shot in the back.
Officials said they were reviewing surveillance footage from the area.
Authorities said they were looking for a male suspect but did not say what might have sparked the shooting.
Police said the suspect was a black male who was wearing a hoodie and track pants.
Police found shell casings at the scene, and an unoccupied vehicle in front of the club was struck by a bullet.
