ETROIT (WWJ) - Two people are in custody after an overnight shootout with police on Detroit's east side.
The incident unfolded around 2:15 a.m. Friday as officers were investigating criminal activity at the Tycoons Executive Club, on 8 Mile Road just east of Groesbeck. Police say two men opened fire on the officers, who returned fire.
The suspects took off running, but surrendered a short time later and were taken into custody.
A weapon was recovered during the arrest, according to police.
No injuries were reported.
Eight Mile Road was closed at Groesbeck while police were investigating the scene, but has since reopened to traffic.
