The article doesn't state if she was being made to dance there against her will - although I don't think a 16 y/o should be dancing at a strip-club it seems the "rescued" language being used in the aritcle is more of the "human trafficking" hysteria going-around that seems many politicians wanna band-wagon on.

Back in the day (pre-2000s) when it was fairly easy to get a fake-ID, I heard stories of 16 and 17 y/o girls that stripped not b/c someone was forcing them to but b/c they wanted to make $$$.

Hell - back in the day; particularly in the hood part of town; it was not super unusual to see 16/17 y/o chicks walking the streets looking for trick$.

This is the same club that was filing a lawsuit against the city citing a small subset of clubs were getting preferential treatment by the city - I wonder if LE, or the clubs receiving preferential treatment, are now retaliating b/c of their lawsuit:

No club is going to knowingly employ a 16 year old. The penalties are too severe.

However, I can fully believe that a corrupt police department would set up a club that accused them of corruption.

Facing dire cop shortage, Houston plans to beef up its police force.

Apparently they have enough to raid strip clubs.
