DETROIT - A man was shot early Saturday in the parking lot of the Cover Girls strip club in Detroit, police said.
Police said a 35-year-old man was shot in the leg about 1:45 a.m. while standing in the parking lot of the building in the 10600 block of Whittier Avenue.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in serious condition. Police do not know who the shooter was

Wow ! That club location is where I first visited as a strip club back in the 1970's.
I more or less follow the reviews of the Detroit-area clubs and this club did not ring a bell - apparently it used to be on TUSCL but it was reported as closed - looks like it was a black SC and only had 4-reviews w/ the last being in 2014:
The name rang a bell but though it was closed. A lot of small clubs didn't make it. I would guesstimate at least 10 small clubs have closed in Detroit since the early 2000's
I hope linking a dead review site won't get me in trouble its just interesting that it lists clubs that are no longer open. stripperweb.com
