A man shot during an early-morning confrontation at a Phoenix strip club Saturday has died, according to Phoenix police.

Police identified the man as 26-year-old James Oliver Tuner.

Phoenix police said the shooting occurred in the area of 17th Street and McDowell Road at about 4:30 a.m. when two groups of male patrons got into a confrontation. The fight was broken up when one of the groups was asked to leave, police said.

Five minutes later, a man entered the bar, fired several shots and then shot Tuner before fleeing, police said.

Tuner was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

No arrests have yet been made and police are still seeking the shooter.

Phoenix police have urged anyone with information to contact the department or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.

McDowell Rd is not a place you want to be at night. I'm not aware of any strip club there, and quick scan of Google maps shows a Latino nightclub in the area, not an SC.

Chilli - I think it might be a SC called Taboo. I think it used to be called Bada Bing.

It is not listed on TUSCL and I have never been so info is limited.

I guess that is the name of the latest incarnation. The address is the same as it was for Taboo. Google says it's permanently closed which obviously isn't true. There are also a bunch of club ad reviews for it on Google.

I found pictures which also listed a website address on the outside marquee. Web address doesn't exist.

The talent agents who put on some of the table dancing shows, or 'bikini shows' at our local Mexican bars would usually try to do 2 or 3 shows per night. They told me that they ended the last show about midnight. They said that it was better that way to get the women out of there, and to give the guys some more time to calm down, before the club had to close up.

Never gave much thought to this. Not sure how much the women cause problems, relative to just alcohol, but maybe they were right.

For myself, alcohol is just a factor in strip clubs, not something I have any need for. It means more clubs, as there is money to be made. But for myself, the club quality and the girl quality are higher when it is absent. Looking forward to the SoCal, San Gabriel Valley juice bar, nude, high mileage clubs.
