13 miles from Leesburg, in Howey in the Hills, is El Campeon, the most unique golfcourse I have ever played in florida. Weird enough its a 1920 design in the middle of nowhere, but it is decidedly an unFlorida course as it has one pond, tree lined fairways, and serious elevation changes.
