STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- A 22-year-old man is "highly uncooperative" after being shot and wounded in front of a strip club in Travis, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.

The man walked into Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton with a gunshot wound to his leg on Monday morning. The man was taken to the hospital by private means, said a spokesman for the NYPD's Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

The man was outside the Touch Gentlemen's Club when shots were fired and the victim was injured, the source confirmed.

No arrests have been made and the investigation continues into the shooting that happened at about 4:19 a.m. at 3575 Victory Blvd., said a police spokesman.

Police were unable to provide a description of the shooter or a motive for the assault.
