A man leaving a strip club before dawn was caught by surprise when he was shot six times from behind in the leg, hip and buttocks, authorities said.
The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. in a parking lot near Playhouse Gentlemen's Club in West Park on Sept. 17, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.
Anthony Edwards, 33, of Dania Beach, told investigators he didn't see the gunman firing at him; he heard the gunshots, then realized he had been hit.
After the shooting, one of Edwards' friends drove him to Memorial Regional Hospital, where they met with investigators. Edwards' friend said he saw a man put his arm out of a car window and fire a black handgun at Edwards.
Edwards, whose injuries were not life threatening, told investigators he didn't have any problems with anyone while he was inside the club that night and didn't know who would want to shoot him.
Detectives are asking for the public's help identifying two men involved in the shooting. They were seen leaving in a white, four-door BMW which pulled out of the parking lot on the 2700 block of Southwest 58th Avenue.
Surveillance video released Monday shows the men arriving at the club around 2:30 a.m. and getting into the BMW minutes before the shooting.
One of the men is described as heavyset with a shaved head and a short dark beard. He was seen in the video wearing a T-shirt, jeans and several gold necklaces.
The second man is described as having a muscular build, short dark hair and a short beard. He was wearing a T-shirt with a camouflage print, investigators said.
Authorities ask anyone with information to call Detective Joe Sedawie at 954-321-4328 or report an anonymous tip through Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
