MEMPHIS, Tenn. –Two people leaving a Memphis strip club thought they were using a ride-sharing service, instead they got robbed.
They were leaving The Pony nightclub at 3918 Winchester when they were approached by a man in an older black Mercedes.
The suspect was posing as a Uber driver.
The victims got into the car and the man drove off.
A few minutes later, he robbed victims at gunpoint and left them in the 3400 block of Lamar.

Good warning.
Make sure you get picked up in public. When you call the uber, there's a little picture that pops up, usually it has the name of the driver, and either a picture of his car or a picture of him. And if I remember right, if you click on the picture, there's even more info about him. Plus, if you've got the Uber app open, it will show you right when your Uber gets to you. All these things should stack the deck in your favor, shouldn't be getting into the wrong car unless you're basically sleepwalking through life. Or, maybe, drunk and coming out of a strip club :)
^^^ if you just paid $600 for a hand job and a $25 transaction fee at the clubs ATM you may be distracted from that too.
Or....get your own car and bring a designated driver
If you pay a $25 trasaction fee for an ATM withdrawl, you probably are dumb enough to assume any black car is an Uber car
