One man is dead following what appears to have been a “violent incident” Friday night at a Jefferson strip club, according to a press release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, whose name has not been released, was found dead in the Foxy Lady club at 6907 MacCorkle Avenue around 10:08 p.m.
Earlier that evening, around 9:30 p.m., Kanawha County Metro 911 received a call from a person at the Go-Mart at MacCorkle Avenue and Kanawha Terrace who indicated they had seen a man wearing one shoe and covered in blood muttering that he had just killed someone, according to the release. Deputies tried but were unable to find the man.
A short time after deputies and a West Virginia State Trooper discovered the body, a man was seen at Grumpy’s Waterfront, police say.
The man had blood on his clothes and told someone he had killed a man. The man is believed to be the same person who was seen walking past Go-Mart earlier in the evening.
He has been detained by the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, but his name has not been released.
Deputies say more information will likely be released later Saturday.
