HOUSTON -- One man is dead and another is injured after a shooting outside of a strip club in northeast Houston.

Houston police say several men were fighting inside Chics Cabaret at East Freeway and Mercury Drive just after midnight Sunday when the fight escalated outside. One of the men pulled out a gun and fired it off several times, striking another man who died at the scene. Officials say one man was transported to Ben Taub Hospital and is expected to live.

No suspects have been identified, and homicide investigators are interviewing witnesses about the incident. Anyone with information on the shooting is encouraged to call the HPD homicide division or Crime Stoppers at (713)-222-8477.
