Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of a strip club near Wilmington early Friday.
According to police, the incident occurred in the parking lot of the Gold Club at 1031 South Market Street just outside of the city at approximately 2:15 a.m.
Several males reportedly were involved in an altercation and, at some point during the fight, one of the subjects retrieved an unknown make and model handgun from a vehicle and began firing toward the group.
A 29-year-old Wilmington female who had been sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked in the lot was struck by one of the rounds.
She was transported to the hospital in the private vehicle, where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
No other injuries have been reported so far, police said.
The suspect was described as a black male with light complexion, last seen wearing a dark hoodie. No other description or surveillance imagery was available at the time.
