LA MARQUE {TX}— The owner of a local strip club was briefly kidnapped, along with his girlfriend and one of the club’s dancers, by armed men Friday morning, Galveston Sheriff’s Office officials said.
According to a media release sent out Friday afternoon, a co-owner of the Ocean Cabaret, a strip club located at 1244 Interstate 45 in La Marque, was kidnapped while he was bringing one of the club’s dancers home to Houston.
Police did not name any of the victims
While dropping off the dancer, two men and a women attacked the co-owner and held them at gunpoint, the Galveston County Sheriff's Office Capt. Barry Cook said in the statement. The gunmen, who were armed with pistols and a shotgun, forced the group to return to the club to gain access to its safe.
When the group arrive, the sheriff's office statement said, the group had discovered that the keys door to the building had been lost during the earlier attack. The gunman forced their way into the building and stole an unknown amount of money from the safe.
The kidnapped victims were released, unharmed, on I-45 near Vauthier Road in La Marque, the sheriff’s office said. The victims called police from a borrowed cellphone after they were released. The car that had carried the group was found a short time later near FM 1764.
Police are seeking information about the crime.
All three suspects in the robbery and kidnapping are black, police said. The first man was wearing all black clothes and a red bandanna covering his face.
The second man was wearing all black cloths and also had a red bandanna, he also spoke with an accent and had dreadlocks, police said.
The woman, also clad in black, wore a white shirt covered in dollar signs.
