A security guard was shot early Saturday morning at a Northwest Dallas strip club.

Dallas police responded to the Onyx Club at the 10500 block of Wire Way shortly before 3 a.m. They discovered the guard shot in the right thigh. The guard was transported in stable condition, police said.

Police also found the weapon used in the shooting at the scene.

The incident is under investigation and police have no further information

I used to visit that club when I lived in Dallas.

Itâ€™s a black club and gets busy afterhours â€“ most Dallas clubs close @ 2:00 a.m. but Onyx stays open late â€“ thus after 2:00 a.m.; many of the riff-raff from the city congregates @ Onyx â€“ it was not uncommon for fights to break out on the floor usually past 2:00 a.m.
