SPRINGFIELD [MA] — A North Shore man was robbed while "having a smoke" outside the Mardi Gras strip club's X-Room over the weekend, police said. The Rockport resident was knocked to the ground by an unknown assailant who took his wallet, according to Springfield Police Sgt. John M. Delaney, who didn't specify the date or time of the alleged crime.
The wallet contained $400 cash, Delaney said, categorizing the incident as an unarmed robbery.
Delaney said the victim was unable to describe the suspect involved the incident, which is being investigated by Detective Anthony Pioggia.
The X-Room is located in Springfield's entertainment district at 395 Dwight St. and is attached to the Mardi Gras, the large downtown strip club on Taylor Street.
The venue is billed as "New England's Premier Nude Male Strip Club" and the only male strip club in Massachusetts, according to the Mardi Gras' website.
Although I’ve never seen a 2:00 a.m. or similar incident in a SC; it seems they occur often enough.
