PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A Providence strip club has been closed for 20 days following a prostitution investigation resulted in the arrests of two women.
WPRI-TV reports (bit.ly ) the Providence Board of Licenses voted Wednesday to suspend the Satin Doll's license for 20 days. The establishment was also ordered to pay a $4,000 fine.
Providence Police say two dancers offered to perform sexual acts for undercover detectives. The business has denied the accusations.
Providence Mayor Angel Taveras has proposed a ‘‘one-strike'' law that would close any club that employs underage dancers or where dancers are caught soliciting customers.
In October the licensing board fined Cheaters Gentlemen's Club $5,000 and suspended its license for 45 days after authorities say it illegally hired a 14-year-old girl and allowed prostitution.

Sounds like RI has a problem.

Probably not worth going to clubs there now. A shame as I will be back there next week.

@jack If LE is really cracking down on the clubs, look on the escort web sites for your fav extras dancers. LE is not going to stop their bills, and it's much much harder to bust escorts who take the customary precautions.

Jack -- No worries. I am a Providence regular and am having just as much fun as I always have. Cheaters deserved what they got. They went so far that it was virtually impossible to get a normal lap dance anymore.

Not just that there is no more "extra" stuff... Have seen reviews saying dance quality / contact has gone down due to recent events.
