Others, took out their frustration on police officers. Some, overtaken with what just happened, were seen crying on the side of the road.
Emotions were running high after a double shooting at a strip club off Atando Avenue in north Charlotte around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they arrived at Cabaret 124 after getting frantic calls of the incident, and found a man in the parking lot.
He had been shot at least once.
Medics rushed him to Carolinas Medical Center, but officials reported 22-year-old Dominick Eugene Alexander died from his injuries.
A second victim showed up in the emergency room of CMC-Main with bullet wounds. Police don't believe that person had life-threatening injuries.
Officers don't yet know what lead up to the shooting, but say they gunman is still on the loose.
The CMPD taped off the area surrounding the club, collecting numerous spent shell casings, cash left on the ground, and other evidence.
Investigators took patrons of the club off to the side, and interviewed them trying to find out who was responsible.
At one point, a WBTV crew spotted several additional bullet casings lying in the middle of the road. Once police were notified, investigators extended the crime scene area to about the size of half a football field.
If you have any information that could help police find out who is responsible, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at (704) 334-1600.
