A man is in jail Wednesday morning after allegedly leaving his daughter in a car while he visited a strip club.
Elliut Gonzalez, 38, of Orlando, allegedly left his sleeping 7-year-old daughter in his green Nissan while he went inside the Diamond Club on Semoran Boulevard, according to the arrest report.
"I knocked on the window multiple times, attempted to open the door and shook the vehicle and was unable to wake the child," Orange County Sheriff's Office Deputy Angela Keller said in a report.
Keller also noted in the report that Gonzalez was in the club drinking and that she "could smell the impurities of alcohol" on him.
Gonzalez was booked into the Orange County Jail on a charge of child neglect. The child was taken home by Gonzalez's girlfriend of four years.
Deputies called the Department of Children and Families and a representative will be investigating the incident.
