A 21-year-old woman who works at the Diamond Club, an Orlando strip club, was arrested early Thursday morning on child neglect charges, deputies say.
Brittany Renee Roman of Miami is accused of leaving her 6-year-old son unattended in an Osceola County hotel for several hours while she went to "go dancing/working at Diamond Club," deputies said in a report.
A security guard at the Westgate Towers in the 7300 block of West U.S. Highway 192 first saw the young boy wandering alone at about 10 p.m.
About three hours later, the security guard saw the boy again and asked him if he was staying at the hotel.
The guard took the boy back to his hotel room and when his mother was nowhere to be found, the guard contacted the Osceola County Sheriff's Office, which in turn called the Florida Department of Children and Families.
As deputies waited for a DCF case worker to arrive at about 1 a.m., she came running to the hotel lobby in tears saying the boy was her son, Roman's arrest report said.
Deputies said she had more than $900 in her purse when she arrived. She told deputies that she left her son at about 10 p.m.
"Due to the length of time the child was left unattended and based on the information she provided, Roman was arrested and booked in the Osceola County Jail," deputies said in a written statement.
She was still in jail on $1,000 bail Thursday afternoon
