Judge dismisses Shively strip club murder case

LOUISVILLE, Ky. —A judge dismissed a murder charge against a man involved in a fatal shooting outside a Shively strip club.

Tony Whitfield Jr. was charged with killing Terrance Smith in December after a fight that started inside the Dollhouse gentlemen's club on Seventh Street Road.

Whitfield maintained he shot Smith in self-defense and held a permit to carry the gun.

In court records, the judge said surveillance video and witness statements backed up Whitfield's claim of self-defense.
