Tampa, Florida -- A fight broke out early Saturday morning and ended in a man's death.
Around 2 a.m. on May 11, a fight began inside the Hollywood Nights Club, a strip club on North Howard Avenue. Club security broke up the fight and made everyone exit the club.
Once outside, shots were fired and two people were struck. Wayne Lanier was struck and later died of his injuries. Omar Bacon was also shot, treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation continues.

last commentBack in the day, when Tampa was the best strip club city in the country, I became quite familiar with the town. I accumulated quite a lot of Delta Skymiles on my TPA trips.
This club isn't one of your tourist clubs. There are several "clusters" of Tampa clubs. There are the Pinellas County clubs across the bay. Never visited them. There are the Ybor City clubs - of course, Ybor City now the party hotspot of Tampa with several festivals during the year. There are a few clubs on Adamo Drive, a somewhat safe industrial area. And there are the famous clubs on Dale Mabry - Mons Venus and 2001 - and a few others, near the Buc's football stadium. Some low end Drew Park clubs are in that area by the airport.
The point is, Hollywood Nights is kind of a stand-alone club in the hood that most tourists are not going to run into.

EVERY time I find a post like this I'll express my opinion about gun violence. Don't like it, don't read it. Pretty simple.
