The strip club Doc's Club 82 evacuated patrons and the Portland Police Bureau closed off the block for two hours Saturday night in response to a phoned-in bomb threat that turned out to be null.
At 9 p.m. Saturday Portland Police responded to a report of a bomb threat at the bar, 4229 S.E. 82nd Ave., according to reports. As a precaution, management evacuated the bar while police were enroute.
Officers walked through the bar and found a bag that did not belong to any employees working that night, police reported.
The Metropolitan Explosives Disposal Unit checked the contents of the bag and found it was safe.
Police blocked off Southeast 82nd Avenue from Boise to Cora streets for about two hours while authorities investigated the threat.
Before last call Saturday, the bar was back open for business.
There is no information on the person who called in the threat. Police ask anyone with information to email [email protected].
