Who is gonna be first to review this club?

CRAVEN COUNTY NC - A recently-opened strip club near a rural Craven County neighborhood is sparking controversy.

“It doesn't seem appropriate,” said William Sikes, referring to The Hideaway Lounge's location near a neighborhood and West Craven High School.

The school is approximately two miles from the club, which is at the corner of River Road and Highway 43 near the Weyerhaeuser plant.

“It's kind of a weird thing” to have it nearby, said Wade Floyd, who, like Sikes, lives near the club.

Topless dancing at the club began within the last month, according to the club's owner, Daniel.

He asked that only his first name be published.

“It's how I make a living, it's how I pay my bills,” Daniel said of the club.

He said critics of The Hideaway Lounge need simply to not attend.

Dancers appear weekly, every Saturday night.

Daniel plans to expand the shows to Friday night next month.

Two miles doesn't seem that close to me. Where I live I don't think there's any place that isn't closer than two miles to a school.
