SANTA ANA – A Stanton man faces more than two decades in prison after he pleaded guilty Monday to abducting and sexually assaulting a dancer at an Anaheim strip club.
Daniel Vidal Santana, 26, pleaded guilty to kidnapping, assault producing great bodily injury, two counts of sexual assault and auto theft and agreed to a prison term of 21 years, eight months in prison plus registration as a sex offender.
Superior Court Judge Steven Bromberg scheduled Santana's sentencing for Oct. 26.
Deputy District Attorney Jess Rodriguez said Santana met the 34-year-old dancer shortly after midnight on Nov. 11, 2010, at an Anaheim strip club, where she performed a private dance for a friend. Santana and the woman met up later that night at a nearby gas station, the prosecutor said.
The woman told police that Santana took her to an alley and beat her up, and then drove her to another location and raped her, according to a court document. She managed to alert a Long Beach motel clerk that she had been assaulted when Santana tried to check in, according to police. He fled in her car.
Santana was arrested a few days later. Detectives found bloody shoes in his residence and the victim's car keys, prosecutors said.
