ATLANTA —
Neighbors in a northwest Atlanta community say noise from a newly opened strip club keeps them up at night.
People living in the Huff Heights condominiums said Diamonds of Atlanta Gentleman's Club is loud until 3 a.m.
Gerald Lopez said people leaving the club trespass on their property.
"We do get a lot of traffic back through here. We've seen people urinate back here," Lopez said.
Lopez told Channel 2's Amy Napier Viteri people use the condos as a cut through.
"It's very late at night," he said. "It keeps most of us up trying to patrol our own neighborhood."
Charles Graham is president of the condo's homeowner's association. He said the Neighborhood Planning Unit strongly opposed the club opening.
Graham wrote emails to city leaders complaining of trespassing and trash, but the major complaint neighbors have is the noise.
A report from Atlanta police showed the businesses was cited in April for noise violations.
Diamonds' manager Jerrell Barron told Viteri he invested in beautifying the building, which operated as a strip club when it was previously open.
He said he has done nothing wrong and feels neighbors are targeting the business because it involves adult entertainment.
Lopez said it brings other problems.
"It's the type of behavior that comes out of this club that we have problems with and we would like it just eradicated," Lopez said.
Barron is due in court on May 24 to answer to the noise violations.
ATLANTA -- Atlanta Police say five people were robbed outside a strip club Thursday morning.
Investigators say four women and a man were leaving the Diamonds of Atlanta strip club on Marietta Boulevard in West Midtown at around 3:30 a.m. when they were accosted by two robbers.
Police say the victims had parked their cars on nearby Elaine Avenue, and that's where the robbery occurred. The suspects, one of whom had a gun, took the victims' cell phones, wallets, money and car keys before running.
No one was injured. Police have not yet named any suspects.
