Update 8:30 a.m.: Police officials say the victim in this morning's fatal shooting outside a South Austin strip club was a bystander who may have tried to stop a robbery from happening.
Police spokesman Cpl. Anthony Hipolito said that police received a 911 call about a shooting at the Palazio strip club on Ben White Boulevard around 1:15 a.m. When they arrived, officers found a deceased white male near the front entrance who had been shot, Hipolito said.
Hipolito said the victim may have tried to tried to intervene in the suspect's attempt to rob the strip club. After a brief struggle with the suspect, the victim was fatally shot, Hipolito said.
The suspect fled the scene. He is described as a white male, approximately five-feet six-inches tall wearing a dark cap and dark clothing.
