A Gastonia man faces three counts of attempted murder after gun shots rang out early Tuesday morning at a Gastonia strip club, according to arrest warrants.
Security at Leather & Lace tossed Andrew Wayne Hullender, 22, out of the club for causing a disturbance, according to arrest warrants. Hullender fought with security at the West Main Avenue club as he was being escorted out.
While in the club and outside the club Hullender made threats of getting a gun out of his truck, according to warrants.
Once outside Hullender ran to his truck and got a .40-caliber handgun, which he fired three times into a crowd of people in the parking lot, according to warrants.
Three people – Stephen Joel Rowe Jr., Stephen Lee Long and Dakota Reese Davis — said Hullender fired the gun in their direction, which led to three charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Hullender also faces charges of assault by pointing a gun, discharging a firearm into occupied property, damage to property and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.
He was booked into Gaston County Jail under a $100,000 bond.
The incident occurred around 12:05 a.m. Tuesday.
