Homicide detectives have identified an area in Port Melbourne where they believe sex worker Johanna Martin was murdered and suspect a client was involved.

The body of Ms Martin, who was also known as Jazzy O and Honie, was found dumped in bushes in Lormier Street around 2.15pm on October 11.

Investigators have established that morning she left a Southbank apartment to have breakfast at a cafe in Bay Street, Port Melbourne and she was last seen alive driving along nearby Evans Street around 12.40pm.

Ms Martin, survived by two children and more grandchildren, died just a few years after her husband Arthur, who she married at 17 after arriving in Australia from Holland.

Her life as as exotic dancer and escort "Jazzy O" is believed to have made her fortune. Her fingers were bedecked with expensive jewellery and industry gossip put her estate in the millions.

It is believed she owned several properties, including the Southbank apartment she lived in at the time she died.

Anyone with information about Ms Martin's death can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at crimestoppers.com.au.

They must have made a mistake - it looks like the wrong person's picture was put up (given the info about her success!)
