Police investigate homicide outside strip club

Bridgeport, Conn. (WTNH) - One man was killed and another shot after an altercation at a Bridgeport strip club this morning.

Bridgeport Police said the incident took place around 1:57 a.m. on North Bishop Ave.

Witnesses say the shooting was the result of a fight that began in a strip club and outside the bullets were flying.

It was quite a commotion in the nice neighborhood, with well cared for homes and neat manicured lawns.

"The ambulance was on the sidewalk, the police car was there, another one down the street," said Vinny Asarisi, "had all kinds of activity."

Just down the street is the Bishops Corner topless strip club, the sign on the door warns no weapons, no drugs allowed.

"They try their best to keep the bad elements out," said Andrew Soltis, "if you notice there's a sign no guns and all that."

Detectives are still trying to sort it all out, but tell us the dispute from the club, carried over into the parking lot across the street and as Shawn Parks was driving away he was hit in the head with a bullet.

Parks ended up crashing his car outside 68 North Bishop St., the 37-year-old from the Bronx was taken to Bridgeport Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An innocent bystander was also injured during the altercation, 38-year-old Sherman Perry of Milford was shot in the leg. He was also taken to Bridgeport Hospital.

Neighbors feel where they live is safe, but point to some of the customers at the strip club as the problem.

"Arugments start one thing leads to another and then they go the their cars and this is the result," said Soltis.

"Brideport is going down the tubes," said Asarisi, "to many things going on."
