I had some time on a Friday night and decided to skip the usual spots and see some that I hadn't been to in a while.

I stuck my head in the door at the Lido at 9 p.m., then pulled my head right back out of the door, got back in the car and drove on. No one was on stage and the only visible signs of life were a couple of bartenders and one dancer sitting with one customer.

When I left, I wasn't really thinking of coming back, but my other stop proved less than exciting (more about that when I get around to writing that one). So at 10:30 or so, I stuck my head in the door at the Lido for the second time that night. What a difference.
